Q: Can I buy direct from the factory?

A: Yes. All our products are manufactured in the United

Q: What type of air handler can I use?
A: All our units are tested with a Carrier air handler. See specifications sheet for details. Our units can also be used with Mortex and ADP coils. For more information, visit the AHRI Web site.
Q: What is your warranty(s)?
A: Our split-systems have a 1-year warranty on parts and a 5-year warranty on the compressor. Our Comfort Packs have a 5-year warranty on parts, 5-year warranty on the compressor and 10-year warranty on the heat exchanger - gas only.
Q: When will R-410A units be available?
A: Our R-410A units are currently in the testing phases and should be readily available by mid-year to the third quarter of 2009.
Q: What makes R-410A a better refrigerant than R-22?
A: It is environmentally friendlier. R-410A is an HFC which will
not deplete the ozone layer when broken down.
Q: Will I still be able to purchase parts for my R-22 unit?
A: Yes.
Q: What SEER rating are your units?
A: 10.9 SEER
Comfort Packs
Q: Should I be concerned with noise levels from a Comfort Pack
unit?
A: National Comfort Products has over 20 years of expertise
in the design and manufacture of air conditioning and heating products. All
of our equipment is designed to minimize noise and vibration. You should
take care when locating the equipment in quiet areas such as bedrooms.
Q: Are National Comfort Products warranties comparable to others?
A: Yes, and in some cases, we pass others with our standard
warranty of 5 years on parts and compressors and 10 years on our heat
exchanger.
Q: Are National Comfort Products replacement parts readily available?
A: Yes. We have stocking wholesalers throughout the
United States and Canada. Many of our wholesalers are nationwide companies
with 100’s of locations in major cities.
Q: What factory support does National Comfort Products offer?
A: National Comfort Products offers training sessions
for wholesalers and contractors on installation, service and troubleshooting
of our equipment. In-house technical staff is available for installation
and troubleshooting advice for all our products.
Q: Is there an option for fresh air introduction in Comfort Packs
equipment?
A: No. We exhaust hot condensing air in the cooling
season and exhaust products of combustion in the heating season on gas
products we do not allow fresh air to enter our grille area. Fresh air
however, can be introduced directly in the return air duct that is located
at the bottom of our unit.
Q: Does your equipment have MEA numbers?
A: Yes. We have MEA numbers, but as of July 1, 2008,
the city of New York no longer requires MEA numbers provided that you
have approved agencies approval. We are ETL approved which meets the
requirement of the New York City requirement.
Split-System Condensing Units and Heat Pumps
Q: What is the difference between your 1000, 3000 and 4000 series
units?
A: The only difference is the cabinet dimensions.
Q: How far can you run refrigerant lines when installing National
Comfort Products split-systems?
A: We recommend that you call the factory when planning to run a refrigerant
line more than 50 feet.
Q: What maintenance do I need to do on my condensing unit?
A: See Step 7 in our Installation Manual for Split-System Condensing Units. These instructions are available under Product Info.
Q: Who should I contact to work on my air conditioner/heat pump?
A: We do not recommend any specific companies. Check your local listings for HVAC service companies.
